I know it is a little late notice, but I just found this community and thought some of you may be interested!

Every year the city hosts the Hoggetowne Medieval Faire at the end of January, beginning of February. At the faire there is a living chessboard that the Thieves Guilde preforms for the faire. If you are not familiar with us, go visit our website www.thievesguilde.org

From our website:
"The Thieves Guilde is a volunteer acting troupe. We re-enact battles of yore, when good conquered evil and the bad guys wore black. We perform at various faires and bring classic stories to life, allowing visiting patrons a chance to step back in time to the Medieval and Renaissance Periods. Through choreographed battles, including living chess boards, and larger-than-life characters, we create a world in which chivalry still lives."

Our auditions are being held this Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 1pm
Location: The Star Center, 3921 SW 13th St, directly across from Szechuan Panda
More information can be found at: http://www.thievesguilde.org/2009.php

If anyone has any questions about what we do or about auditions in general, please feel free to shoot me an email at mick7742@gmail.com

Thanks guys!

Jousting (Virginia) [12 Mar 2006|05:54pm]

[ mood | wondering ]

Does anyone know of a person or group that is skilled in horsemanship and/or jousting? I'm not talking expensive groups like Medieval Times. I'm working the Virginia Renaissance Festival and they are trying to find a demonstration of some sorts. Even as basic as jousting rings, and slicing melons from horseback. If you do or know someone who does please post here or email me at fightcoordinator at gmail, Thanx
